Is this legit?

Judge it on specifics, not on adjectives.

There are no testimonials on this page and no inflated counters. Three things you can check yourself instead.

01

The questions are the real papers

Every question is digitised from an official GATE paper — same wording, same options, same marks. We don’t write questions, and we don’t buy question banks.

02

Typos get reported and fixed

Digitising thousands of questions means mistakes happen. Every question has a report button. You tell us what’s wrong, we fix it, and the fix ships for everyone.

03

We’re small, and we’ll say so

Still in beta. You’d be early, which is the honest trade: it’s free, and what you ask for is what gets built next.

Why this exists

The name is a joke among aspirants. The product isn’t.

I was preparing for GATE and kept doing the same thing everyone does: hunting PDFs of old papers, solving them untimed, having no idea which topics were actually costing me marks.

So I digitised the papers properly, put a real clock on them, and made the app tell me the truth about my weak topics. Then friends asked for access. Then their friends did.

It’s free right now because it isn’t finished. If you find a wrong answer or a broken paper, report it — I read every one, and fixes usually ship the same week.

Free now, paid later — the promise

Everything on this page is free today. Sign in with Google and start.

Paid tiers will come, and they’ll be extras. Past papers and the syllabus tracker stay free.

Your attempts, bookmarks and progress stay yours — no paywall drops over work you’ve already done.

No ads, ever. Nothing sold to coaching institutes.

Beta means: rough edges exist, and you can tell me about them.

Straight answers

Questions people actually ask.

Is gatetard.in official?

No. It’s an independent project, not affiliated with IIT, IISc or the GATE organising committee. The papers are theirs; the practice tools are ours.

Where do the questions come from?

Past GATE papers, digitised question by question with their original options and marks, across CS, DA, EE, MA and ST so far.

What if an answer is wrong?

Report it from the question itself. It gets checked against the official key and corrected. This is the fastest way to make the platform better.

Is my branch supported?

CS & IT, Data Science & AI, Electrical, Mathematics and Statistics are live. Ask for yours through the contact form — requests decide what’s digitised next.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Practice, the daily question and the syllabus tracker are built for phone use. For full timed mock tests, a laptop is closer to the real exam.

Do I have to pay later?

Not for what you’re using today. Paid tiers are planned as additions, and you’ll hear about them from inside the app, not from a surprise lockout.
